Overview
Alpha hydroxy acids like glycolic acid work by removing the top layers of dead skin cells. Glycolic acid also seems to help reverse sun damage to the skin.
People use glycolic acid for acne, aging skin, dark skin patches on the face, and acne scars. It is also used for stretch marks.
Don't confuse glycolic acid with other alpha hydroxy acids, including citric acid, lactic acid, malic acid, and tartaric acid. These are not the same.
Effective for
- Acne: Applying glycolic acid to the skin seems to help reduce acne in people 12 years and older who have mild to moderate acne.
- Aging skin: Applying glycolic acid to the skin seems to reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging and sun damage.
- Acne scars: Applying glycolic acid to the skin, alone or together with micro-needling, seems to reduce acne scars.
- Dark skin patches on the face (melasma): Applying glycolic acid to the skin, alone or together with other treatments, seems to reduce mixed-type and epidermal-type melasma.
🔺Precautions 🔺
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Glycolic acid is likely safe when applied to the skin appropriately while pregnant or breast-feeding. But there isn't enough reliable information to know if glycolic acid is safe to use by mouth. Stay on the safe side and stick to topical products.
Sensitive skin: Glycolic acid can cause skin irritation and make certain skin conditions worse. Use cautiously in people with sensitive skin. And please consult your skin care provider before using our product.
▪️ Guidance ▪️
Day 1
Always start your treatment routine before bed. Wash your face thoroughly. Apply 1-2 pumps of treatment cream over your face and massage it in, avoiding eyes.
You don’t need to apply anything when you’re using this cream. It will slightly burn at first, because it has 10% Glycolic acid concentration. It will go down after 2-5 minutes.
Day 2
Morning: Take a skin resurfacing pad and wipe your face thoroughly. Use Glass Skin cleanser and wash your face. Towel dry and apply Glass Skin Or Nonapeptide. If you have very dry skin, you can apply Kakadu plum moisturizer or Lineless since Lineless is known to be a moisturizer as well.
Night: Wash your face thoroughly. Apply cream again and sleep.
Day 3
Morning: Wipe your face with a Skin Resurfacing pad and then wash your face with any Z’non face wash. Towel dry face and apply Glass Skin serum followed by Ageless 2% brightening cream. This is because your skin will absorb skin brightening ingredients in those two products better and work more effectively.
Night : Wash your face thoroughly and apply the cream again. This is your last application in a week. You repeated the 3 day routine after skipping 5 days.
Day 4
Morning: Wipe face with skin resurfacing pad and wash with any Z’non face wash. Apply Glass Skin with Lineless on top or any moisturizer of your liking.
▪️You can repeat the above until you begin noticing a difference. You stop the treatment after a month. Take a break for 2 weeks and start again. This is intended for continuous use since we don’t stop aging do we? No. :)
